Witch’s Brew Frappuccino casts a spell on Starbucks fans
Ready for Starbucks’ bewitching Halloween beverage? Witch’s Brew Frappuccino has appeared at a Starbucks near you, but only if you dare.
Starbucks’ Halloween Frappuccino is ready to cast a spell. Witch’s Brew is appearing at Starbucks locations across the U.S. Can you handle this Halloween inspired blended beverage?
For the colorful, themed beverage fans, Starbucks has rolled out its annual Halloween beverage. The Witch’s Brew looks part spooky, part mystical and quite colorful. While the colors convey Halloween witch, the flavor combinations aren’t exactly fall-inspired.
According to Starbucks, the blended beverage’s flavor is a “purple blend of “toad’s breath” and orange crème Frappuccino and a swirl of green “bat warts” (made with chia seeds). A topping of vanilla whipped cream and dusting of green “lizard scale” powder finishes the beverage.”

It appears that orange is the predominate flavor. Generally, orange doesn’t seem to be the most popular flavor choice for Halloween. Although the color orange is everywhere during the season, warm, spice flavors are usually more popular in the fall months.

The combination of orange cream and vanilla whipped cream almost sounds like a creamsicle. That flavor, and frozen treat, is generally a summer food. I wonder if the witches are casting a spell for a warmer than normal fall and winter?
Also, the addition of chia seeds is different for Starbucks. While chia seeds seem to be sprouting in everyone’s smoothies and bowls, adding them in this blended beverage is different. Since I haven’t tried the beverage, it will be curious to see how both the flavor and texture effect the blended beverage overall.
Truthfully, this blended beverage is more about the appearance. The Witch’s Brew is the third Halloween inspired Frappuccino. Previously, Starbucks released the Frappula in 2015 and 2016. Last year, the brand served the Zombie. It seems that every year, these blended beverages get more and more colorful.
If you want to try this Halloween concoction, don’t wait for the witching hour. The Witch’s Brew is available for a limited time and while supplies last. Will you fall under the Starbucks’ Halloween spell this year?
