Starbucks Tie Dye Frappuccino makes us wish for PSL
As everyone rushes to try the Starbucks Tie Dye Frappuccino, FoodSided would rather start the countdown to the annual PSL release.
Another colorful Frappuccino has taken over your Instagram feed. The limited edition Starbucks Tie Dye Frappuccino has rolled out into stores. While it seems like everyone needs to try this rainbow-colored beverage, FoodSided is dreaming of the return of the PSL.
According to Starbucks, the Tie Dye Frappuccino is a blended beverage, with no two beverages being the same. The Crème Frappuccino is quite vibrant, but the beverage is definitely a sugary sip. Topped with whipped cream and colored powder, this beverage is far from a traditional coffee.
One of the most interesting parts of this beverage is how the colors were created. The colors come from red beet, turmeric and spirulina. Starbucks should be applauded for using natural methods for obtaining those brightly colored hues.
Starbucks couldn’t let this summer pass by without at least one colorful, limited edition beverage. Previous options, like the Unicorn, had everyone flocking to their favorite barista to get one.

In a way, this colorful beverage would have been well suited for June’s Pride Month celebrations. The rainbow colored beverage would have been a nice opportunity to celebrate love for all.
Since these colorful, Instagram worthy beverages will continue to happen, it would be nice to see Starbucks bring something bold to the table. With the color coming from turmeric, why couldn’t the turmeric flavor come through in the beverage? Wouldn’t that idea be a great way to spark a food conservation?
While many people love these colorful beverages, FoodSided would rather have some real coffee. Sure, summertime is hot and a cold or frozen beverage can be refreshing. Still, these crème frappuccinos are far from the original Starbucks concept.
In many ways, wouldn’t a tasty PSL or Peppermint ice Latte bring some Christmas in July vibes? Plus, those flavors could bring the focus back to the coffee concept, instead of the colorful visuals.
