The new Ruffles Lime & Jalapeño chips take the Anthony Davis partnership to a new level. Have the chips sunk a flavor win?

Anthony Davis and Ruffles are proving once again tasty snacking is a slam dunk. The new Ruffles Lime & Jalapeño chips are the latest innovation to come out of this partnership. Are you ready to taste Davis’ culinary creation?

Expanding on their winning partnership, Ruffles and Davis revealed their newest collaboration, a custom chip flavor, Ruffles Lime & Jalapeño. As part of the Official Chip Deal in 2019, Davis has worked closely with Ruffles to find ways to bring his personality, likes and innovation to the snack brand. And, Ruffles has found ways to support its biggest chip fan too, (remember the snacking scaries).

“The Chip Deal is transcending the notion of traditional athlete endorsement deals: pairing Anthony Davis’ commitment to impact beyond the court and bringing fans something unprecedented from a potato chip brand.” said Sadira Furlow, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay North America.

The latest innovation comes in the form of this new flavor. Davis worked with Ruffles and Frito-Lay to create this All-Star signature flavor. The chip features a zesty note of lime and a punch of spice from the jalapeño. In a way, it is the perfect balance of ying and yang in a chip.

Furlow commented, “With the launch of Ruffles Lime and Jalapeño, we translated Davis’ energy and originality into an incredible potato chip flavor that is undoubtedly one of the most innovative flavors in Ruffles history.”

Part of the reason why these two complementing flavors work so well on a Ruffles chip is the ridges. While everyone loves those ridges, the signature texture of a Ruffles chip help to enhance the zesty heat of this particular flavor. In a way, each bite offers an wave of flavor excitement.

While these chips are delicious on their own, they offer many snacking options. Since Ruffles and its ridges are amazing with dips, this chip flavor could be delicious with some cool ranch dip.

To make this Davis collaborative flavor even more special. Ruffles unveiled three limited-edition packaging designs. The package designs are bold and dynamic, just like Davis’ personality.

Ruffles has prided itself on celebrating the individuality. Both the new Ruffles Lime & Jalapeño flavor and the bag designs seem to encourage standing out in a crowd. Just like Davis makes his presence known on the court, these chips will soon shoot to the top of the foodie’s snacking list.

Since the beginning of 2020, Frito-Lay has brought numerous snack innovations to the snack aisle. From the introduction of Cheetle and Cheeteos Popcorn to two new Doritos flavors and Lay’s chips flavors, the snacking brand continues to surprise and engage its fans.

Looking at the Frito-Lay announcements, the biggest takeaway is the focus on flavor. Each of the newest flavor innovations are bold and exciting. The flavors are delivering a big punch not only in heat but also layers of flavor. It entices the fans to explore creative flavor combinations.

As the big snacking day approaches, aka Super Bowl Sunday, it will be interesting to see the commercials that Frito-Lay has in store. Pushing both the creativity and the flavor will continue to score with fans.

The Ruffles Lime & Jalapeño chips will be available at select retailers on January 20. Starting on February 3, the Ruffles chips will be available nationwide.
