Can these Worst Cooks in America create the ultimate sausage and “meat” expectations?

Heading into the fourth episode of Worst Cooks in America Season 20, the recruits have started to prove their worth in the kitchen. From culinary games to la dolce vita, these cooks are starting to be less “worst” and maybe even decent. Will this week’s challenge be a tough one?

According to the Food Network, this week’s Worst Cooks in America episode, “Boardwalk Bites”

"The recruits kick off the day with a doughnut eating game to learn about flavors — Glaze of Glory! Then, they put their newfound knowledge to the test by making their own uniquely flavored doughnuts for the skill drill. For the main dish challenge, Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Alex Guarnaschelli teach the recruits how to make sausages from scratch, and the recruits must grind, case and flavor their own sausage sandwiches. The two bottom recruits who don’t “meat” the chefs’ expectations will be sent home."

Thinking about the first challenge, this one might be difficult for the recruits. Figuring out flavors hasn’t been a strong suit for the aspiring chefs. As seen in last week’s early challenge, the recruits are better with their hands than with their taste buds.

Additionally, making doughnuts is a hard challenge. Hopefully, the doughnuts will be baked. Asking these recruits to fry doughnuts could be a kitchen disaster. But, it could make for some food TV.

As for the elimination challenge, this challenge might be quite difficult. Finding the right balance in a sausage takes a deft hand. Too much fat and its greasy. Too little fat and it is dry. Fat is almost as important as the spices.

Most likely, this sausage challenge will make for some interesting commentary all around. There will be many comments about stuffing sausages and handling meat. Just think of the Food Network graphics.

Still, it has been hard to pick a potential front runner in this Worst Cooks season. Each recruit has had both highs and lows. It always comes down to who does well in the elimination.
