Free food is always a good thing and the Wendy’s free Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant is giving many people a good reason to try the new breakfast menu item. Will this free food offer change people’s morning breakfast order?

Fast casual restaurants are always looking for a way to entice guests to make another purchase. Over the past several months, each and every national brand has found ways to encourage guests to place another order. According to the terms, the free food offer is available only during breakfast hours. Additionally, it is limit one offer per customer, per visit. It cannot be combined with other others or a combo.

Wendy’s describes this breakfast as a chicken breast and Applewood smoked bacon with maple butter on a flaky croissant. The combination is meant to be a little savory and a little sweet.

It is an interesting choice to serve for breakfast. While a touch of sweet is often served at breakfast, eggs are usually the pairing. The addition of chicken makes this breakfast a little different.

For people who like chicken and waffles, this idea is a more portable version. Although not the same, the savory/sweet combination has that same appeal.

While the all-day breakfast options have disappeared, this Wendy’s breakfast item would have made for a great breakfast for dinner option. Or, maybe this idea could become a new brunch trend.

Even though many people have their preferred breakfast food order, the free food promotion can often get people to at least try a new menu item. It is really hard to turn down a free food offer.

It will be interesting to see if people change their breakfast order thanks to this free Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant offer. If this promotion works well, it could be a way for Wendy’s to continue to promote new menu items. Wouldn’t it be nice if every new menu item came with a free food offer?
