Wing Showdown: Uber Eats and wing loving celebrities face off
Who will win in the Uber Eats Wing Showdown?
Only one can be crowned champion in the Wing Showdown. Kicking off National Wing Day on July 29, Uber Eats has partnered with Off the Menu, several chicken wing loving celebrities and various restaurants to see which chicken wing reigns supreme. Are you ready to cast your vote?
For many people, chicken wings are their ultimate indulgence. While people can debate over the preferred dipping sauce (ranch versus blue cheese), those lip smacking chicken wings always bring people to the table. Whether you prefer the drums, the flats or the even boneless wings, there is at least one chicken wing dish that is your absolute favorite.
In the Wing Showdown, Uber Eats and Off the Menu have joined forces with several celebrities to determine the ultimate chicken wing champion. Similar to the Burger Showdown earlier this year, this chicken wing battle is played out via customers’ votes.
Some of the celebrities participating in this challenge include: Shaquille O’Neal, Snoop Dogg, Jessie James Decker, Tyler Cameron, Tyra Banks, Haylie Duff, Anthony Anderson, Zac Posen, Jo Koy, and Phil Heath. Participating restaurants are located in NYC, LA and Orange County, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Denver, Toronto and Vancouver. Each celebrity partnered with the restaurant to create their own chicken wing recipe. Voting is open through August 2.
Since many foodies are curious about celebrities’ chicken wing preferences, Uber Eats shared some videos with the participating celebrities sharing the chicken wing preferences. From wing types to dipping sauces to their ultimate tasty recipes, these videos are fun.
It seems that the flats are gaining in popularity. Whether it is a method of eating or a preferred flavor, the flats seem to be the preferred wing.
On the other hand, the ranch versus blue cheese debate seems to be split fairly evenly. Although Shaq weighed in with neither, preferring some honey mustard. When it comes to Shaq, everyone expects him to follow his own flavor path.
Voting for the Wing Showdown is open July 29 through August 2. The event raises funds and awareness for Center for Policy Equity. The winning celebrity will have a donation made in their name to this organization.
Which celebrity do you think should earn the Wing Showdown crown? More importantly, how many chicken wings will you be eating this week?
