MasterChef Legends: Curtis Stone joins the audition rounds

After a few cooks earned an apron in the first round, MasterChef Legends welcomes Curtis Stone to the kitchen. Can this next round of chefs earn the respect of the judges and move into the competition?

According to Fox, MasterChef Legends: Curtis Stone – Auditions Round 2 features the following:

"With only nine aprons remaining in the audition round, the search for the next MASTERCHEF continues. The next round of home cooks have just 45 minutes to impress the judges, along with guest judge and legendary Michelin Star chef Curtis Stone, who also is a judge on FOX’s CRIME SCENE KITCHEN, in the all-new “Legends: Curtis Stone – Auditions Round 2” episode of MASTERCHEF airing Wednesday, June 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

As seen in the first episode, the Gordon Ramsay, Aaron Sanchez and Joe Bastianich were quite stringent with their praises for the home cooks. Even though all of the dishes would earn accolades from friends and family, the truth is that impressing celebrated chefs is much more difficult.

With only nine more aprons available, the competition will be even more heated. Adding Curtis Stone to the mix could bring a new twist to the judging table. Although Stone has been a judge on various culinary competitions, his approach to cooking is different than the other judges. Will he lean towards the food and heart connection, similar to his own food connections to his grandmothers?

While the final aprons will be awarded in this audition round, it is hard to appreciate which home cooks will rise to the top. Even with some dishes from the first episode earning high praises from the judges, it  doesn’t mean that those home cooks will be on path to greatness.

Each challenge must stand alone. An amazing signature dish doesn’t mean that a home cook will excel at a mystery box challenge.
