Every neighborhood has that guy. You know him. Most love him, but the HOA might have a different perspective. When it is time to get the party started, everyone knows who is first on the invite list. In this year’s Bud Light Super Bowl LIX commercial, the Big Men on the Cul-De-Sac come to the rescue.
Bud Light has had legendary Super Bowl commercials. From words that become the phrase of the year to some silly, yet poignant, commentary, the beer brand’s ads are always on the top lists.
While many people are happily sipping that refreshing lager with their Big Game food spread, this year’s commercial will have people thinking, and looking around the room. Who are the Big Men on Cul-De-Sac in your group?
Speaking about this year’s Super Bowl commercial, Todd Allen, SVP of Marketing for Bud Light said, “For over forty years Bud Light has been at the center of every great backyard hang with the help of BMOCs. For Super Bowl LIX, we’re celebrating the neighbors that can turn up a party and are always on-hand to lend a few cold ones when your cooler runs dry. For the campaign, we tapped three of our favorite partners in Post Malone, Shane Gillis and Peyton Manning who all undoubtedly deliver BMOC energy in their everyday lives and shared it on screen in hilarious fashion for Super Bowl LIX.”

After the previous teaser, everyone was waiting to see how Post Malone and Shane Gillis were going to bring the party. From beer cannons fashioned from leaf blowers to the most epic cooler, grill, lawn mower in history, this party would go down in HOA history. It might need a special permit in the real world, but it is definitely not just some small block party.
Although not condoned by Bud Light, it would be interesting to see if anyone could mimic or share their own Big Men on Cul-De-Sac event. Maybe it is a parade of “cooler scooters” (yes, that is real and I have one), the ultimate portable bar set up, or the griller that would make even a BBQ champion jealous. There are plenty of ways to bring this commercial concept to real life. But, do not come complaining to Bud Light if the HOA levies a fine.
Bud Light captures what it does best in a Super Bowl commercial. People will laugh, see themselves in that story, and maybe have a bit of FOMO. Everyone will be talking about this moment come Monday morning, if they didn't party too much with the Big Men on Cul-De-Sac.
