Finding a memorable, romantic, and unique Valentine’s Day experience in New York City can feel like an arduous task. This year, Princess Cruises, the original Love Boat, welcomes guests to bask in the love of food and each other at the Love by Britto pop-up event.
Anyone who has traveled on a Princess Cruises ship appreciates that the experience fosters memorable connections. From breakfast on a balcony to watching the sunset at an aft bar, there are plenty of locations to steal a romantic moment with that special someone.
When the cruise line launched its newest ship, Sun Princess, guests were given even more experiences to explore. While there will always be the best pizza at sea, Magic Castle Speakeasy, impressive shows, and the immersive Love by Britto restaurant ensure that every moment captivates all the senses.
While many people long to pack their bags for the ultimate vacation, carving out those extra days may not fit into the schedule. This Valentine’s Day, Princess Cruises is bringing one of its unique experiences on shore. Hearts will swoon at the Love by Britto.
For those unfamiliar with the Love by Britto concept, it is an immersive dining experience that blends the culinary expertise of Chef Rudi Sodamin, Head of Culinary Arts for Princess Cruises, and the iconic artwork of Romero Britto. The dishes are as flavorful as they are visually stunning.
This year, Princess Cruises is offering a special NYC Love by Britto pop-cup. The onshore experience is a highly coveted Valentine’s Day dining event. Filled with romantic cocktails, a five-course dinner, and Britto’s art, couples will feel like they have walked into their happily ever after moment.
As Chef Sodamin explained, "We've created an event that goes beyond a traditional dinner, combining Britto's iconic art with culinary masterpieces to celebrate the universal language of love in a truly transformative way. New York City and Princess Cruises are united by a shared spirit of romance, and both are iconic settings where love is celebrated, nurtured, and cherished. Our goal is to leave New Yorkers inspired—through culinary masterpieces and Romero Britto's vibrant artistry—by celebrating the universal language of love in this exclusive dining experience."
The menu will feature some of the Love by Britto's memorable food. From the Cappuccino of Wild Mushroom with Shaved Winter Truffles to Chilean Sea Bass with Caviar Mousseline and Pea Puree to the iconic Chocolate Lava Cake with Fresh Berries and Raspberry Cream, there is a dish for every preference. Even though it is not overt, certain ingredients and flavors have a hint of aphrodisiac qualities. It is easy for anyone to be caught up in the moment, just remember to look at your dining partner, not just the plate.
While this special pop-up is only available for February 13 and 14, the concept could be expanded in many ways to build excitement and connection to Princess Cruises unique onboard experiences. For example, a Magic Castle speakeasy pop-up would be well-received. Maybe there is a way to bring its pizza ashore for a National Pizza Day celebration. The possibilities are many.
For anyone who would like to book the Love by Britto NYC pop-up, dining reservations are available via Tock. The cost is $170 per person. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Save the Children.
