Ben & Jerry’s nutty collaboration with Arrested Development

Ben & Jerry’s is excited to binge watch Arrested Development. Get your spoons ready for this nutty collaboration.

Ben & Jerry’s has had some epic collaborations over the years. Since everyone is excited about Arrested Development being on NETFLIX, the ice cream company wanted to celebrate season 5. For a limited time, the favorite ice cream company is going to be offering a special sundae based on everyone’s favorite dysfunctional family.

Now through June 17, ice cream fans and Arrested Development fans can indulge on the Bluth Banana Stand Sundae. The idea of this sundae stems from the family’s side business, Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana. Luckily this business is as tasty as it will be successful.

This special limited time sundae will be available at participating Scoop Shops. But, don’t worry if you don’t have a location near you. Everyone can make this yummy sundae at home.

The recipe is basically a modification on a banana split. The sundae combines ice cream, bananas, chocolate syrup, nuts and whipped cream. It is simple and easy.

Ben & Jerry’s recommends the ice cream flavors of Chunky Monkey, vanilla or Chocolate Therapy. The Chunky Monkey is banana ice cream with walnuts and fudge. Personally, I think that this ice cream choice is a little heavy on the banana flavor.

If I was making the Bluth Banana Stand Sundae at home, I would make a few modifications. First, I would use vanilla caramel fudge. Caramel and banana work well together. The sundae might be a little sweet, but it would be hard to resist. Or, if you had extra time, you could add caramelized bananas to the sundae. Just be careful if you try to flambé those bananas. No one wants to light the house on fire.

Another ice cream flavor that would work is peanut butter world. Bananas and peanut butter are great combination. Sure, Elvis would approve of this combination, but the Bluth family probably wouldn’t have a problem with the ice cream switch.
