5 Best food subscription boxes to try
By Sandy C.
Have you been considering subscribing to a monthly food delivery service, but don’t know where to look? We list our favorite food subscription boxes, below!
Monthly subscription boxes are all the rage these days, especially during the holiday season. Why? Not only are they fantastic and an easy way to try something new each month, but they make the perfect gift!
Is there a foodie in your family or health-conscious friend on your shopping list this Christmas? A box filled with tasty treats will win you the title of best gift-giver. Searching for a box for yourself and your family? That’s great, too! Receiving a ready-to-cook meal (or already prepared snack) right to your front door really helps if you have a busy schedule or have been wanting to learn how to cook something new.
Whether you’re looking for a box that will deliver meals or snacks, here are five you should consider trying…
Hello Fresh
We all want to learn how to cook great, healthy meals, but who has the time? With Hello Fresh, you can! Hello Fresh delivers fresh ingredients, easy-to-follow instructions to cook the meal guaranteed to take 30 minutes or less.

Universal Yums!
Not interested in a meal or love trying new things? Universal Yums! is perfect for you. On top of it all, it’s very reasonably priced!
Universal Yums! takes you to a new country every month, delivering snacks and candies from a different country. Included with the treats is a booklet with facts on the sweets you’re trying out. If you’re not ready to commit, there’s an option to receive only one box to check it out for $16.
Raw Spice Bar
This one is not for the newbies. If you’re thinking of subscribing to Raw Spice Bar, it’s because you already know how to cook. Raw Spice Bar offers spices unlike anything you’ll find at the store, with prices for any budget.
We received a few of these spices to try and they really do add a fresh, tasty, new taste to your meal! Our favorite is the Poultry Seasoning. It’s a herb-based seasoning that includes sage, thyme, and rosemary. It’s also salt-free, and let me tell you, you never would’ve known. Tip: Add just a pinch, a little goes a long way!

Blue Apron
Much like Hello Fresh, Blue Apron ships ready-to-cook, fresh ingredients with easy steps. Choosing between both may be a challenge and require some research. Both have competitive prices and different recipes. Check them out online and read up reviews from real costumers to help make up your mind.
I’ve tried both and have to say Hello Fresh is the winner, but everyone is different.
Coffee Crate
That’s right, coffee! Delicious coffee beans! Not only do you have the option to subscribe to get a box of coffee beans every month, but they have a gift option, too! What does this Coffee Crate subscription include? You’ll get three 4-oz. each month and shipping is free.
