A 75th anniversary is a diamond event, but the Cheetos 75th birthday celebration sparkled with its fiery mischief. From stunning runway fashions to flavorful desserts, the influence that the colorful snack has had on pop culture has been tremendous.

From Super Bowl commercials to celebrity collaborations, Cheetos has become more than Chester’s favorite snack. Showcasing how that classic snack food crosses generations and backgrounds has been key to its success. No matter where people are or what they are doing, that crunchy snack satisfies.

It is the flavor that has people opening the bag regardless of the Cheetle on their hands. Even if the shapes might vary, people happily grab handfuls.

And, even those broken ones have a purpose. Who hasn’t sprinkled some of that Cheetos dust on a hot dog, pizza, or even a milkshake. It is an instant flavor booster.

For the Cheetos 75th birthday celebration, the Frito-Lay snack food brand brought together VIP guests for the ultimate pop culture celebration. While Chester might have toned down the mischief a little, this celebration was far from bland and boring.

As Tina Mahal, senior vice president of brand marketing at Frito-Lay said, “Since its creation, Cheetos has stolen the spotlight at cultural moments around the world and inspired fans to rock orange fingertips unapologetically. The 75th birthday party was a chance to celebrate a snack that never goes out of style with our fans.”

During the event, some stylish food fashion walked the runway. Over the years, the vibrant orange has woven its way into many looks. From a simple ready to wear to high fashion, there is always a way to give a nod to the cheesy life.

Since any momentous birthday celebration deserves a special dessert, Christina Tosi of Milk Bar created Cheetos Milk Bar birthday cake. From the Cheetle-infused birthday frosting to the pieces of Cheetos throughout, that combination of salty and sweet was a huge hit. Just like Tosi’s other desserts, her whimsical style is a perfect fit for this collaboration.

As Tosi commented, “Out-of-the-box flavor combinations are what I love about baking – remixing my favorites into something fresh and first-of-its-kind. Cheetos dunked straight into with vanilla frosting has been a dirty dessert secret of mine for years, so this cake is a match made in snacking heaven to me.”

Maybe the biggest take away from this mischievous Cheetos celebration is the combination of Cheetos and vanilla icing. Wonder if a Flamin’ Hot twist would be even more satisfying?

Few brands have made it to the 75 year mark. Give Chester a hip, hip, hooray and open a bag of Cheetos in his honor.
