It is time to put those baking and detective skills to the test. Crime Scene Kitchen Season 3 is back, and its new theme could cause tensions to rise in the kitchen.

Returning to FOX programming on September 26, 2024, Crime Scene Kitchen Season 3 brings back host Joel McHale as well as judges chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp. While fans know that the talented bakers must balance their baking knowledge, keen detective skills, and superb execution, mastering all the elements is easier said than done.

According to FOX, the Crime Scene Kitchen Season 3 theme is “Family and Friends.” This season will showcase six pairs of family members and six pairs of friends battling head-to-head. While previous baking teams have had a familial tie, making family and friends the season theme could bring some extra drama to the kitchen. Could that best friend connection be less contemptuous than family? The old adage about blood being thicker than water will be put to the test.

Fans will remember last season’s theme, self-taught bakers versus classic trained bakers. While both categories found success throughout the season, it was the bakers who brushed up on their detective skills and overall baking knowledge that often faired well, especially in the beginning rounds.

Additionally, fans of the FOX baking competition will recall that the family teams sometimes had difficulty in managing their communication. Although no marriages were irrevocably harmed, there were a few tense moments. Only time will tell if family or friends will walk away with the coveted title and cash prize.
